This month we are happy to spotlight Mercedes Gomez of Tijuana, Martha Romero or Torrance, CA, and Elsa Vargas of Monterrey. Here they tell us in their own words what it means to them to be an fan of iNNiS Casey.

Mercedes Gomez
For me, being a fan has been a very beautiful experience because he is very down to earth, you can talk to him about anything. I enjoy supporting him by going to his performances, personal appearances and meeting him at the airport. The first time I met him was at the EXA concert in Tijuana. It was the best! After that he has returned many times for radio promotion and I was there for every visit. I am very happy to be part of his fanclub and I will always support him because he is great person and he sings beautifully.

Elsa Vargas Gonzalez (Elsa)
Myself, like many of you (I imagine) met iNNiS but in my case it was before I ever heard his debut song "dime donde, dime cuando" (don´t get excited) I met him in a dream, well I was on a beach with a guy who was identical to iNNiS and we spoke of many things... one was why I hadn´t told him where to look.... the next day as I was watching a music videos program I was surprised to see the man of my dream on tv!! At the time I was about to turn 15 (April 10th) and of course at that age many things are important especially love, a central theme of innis songs. At times I would daydream while listening to "dime donde".

That August (2000) Innis came to Monterrey for promotion and a radio dj from EXAFM gave me an autographed cd, and so I quickly wrote a letter for Innis and my mom drove me to the all. I will never forget the huge crowd, according to the local press there was over 2000 people. Thanks to the radio dj I was able to enter the store without a problem where she handed me the cd. About 30 minutes later, Innis arrived and I was second in line to have my cd autographed. Something I will never forget was when one of the store staff ouldn´t let me pass because I had the cd, the letter and a notebook, the guy rudely told me I couldn´t pass with so many items (???)

Just as I was about to defend myself Innis intervened and told the store employee to leave me alone, I stepped up and he signed my cd and gave me a kiss on the cheekSince there was such a long line of people waiting I was only able to hand him the letter and say thanks. He only smiled and replied "For what?". I walked out of the store elated and proud.

Currently I am studying for a degree in Psychology, just turned 18, in a sense I have left that phase of my life behind but those moments will live in me always. At that moment I knew he was my platonic (dream) love....and for that is why I am a part of the fanclub.

Besos y abrazos xoxo Elsita

Martha Romero:
I first heard of Innis on the radio as I was driving to work one day. He was being interviewed on Super Estrella. I immediately fell in love with his voice and his personality. What caught my attention most was he being from Glendale and his perfect Spanish, despite not being Hispanic. At the end of the interview he gave out his web site. As soon as I got to work, I looked up his web site and immediately fell in love with his face and his gorgeous blue eyes and of course his music.

I have seen Innis perform now twice and fortunately both times I was able to get my picture taken with him and get his autograph. The first performance was at Disney's California Adventure in September 2001. Unfortunately due to technical problems we were not able to see both performances scheduled and he was only able to sing three songs. Sitting in the sun for hours waiting for the performance was well worth it, especially when as we were waiting Innis came out to sign some autographs and take pictures with his fans. This appearance certainly took me off guard, but I grabbed my camera and ran to get an autograph and picture. I had Innis sign my Disney map, since I left both CDs in my car as wasn't about to run 5 miles to the parking lot to get them as Innis suggested. Then my boyfriend, who went with me, took our picture. I still couldn't believe Innis would come out before and then stay after the performance to sign more autographs. It was a great day.

The next time I saw Innis perform was June 2002 at LATV Live. Again, Innis only sang three songs, but stayed after to sign autographs and take pictures with his fans. This time I went prepared and took my "Es Por Ti" CD to get it signed. I still didn't get it signed, however, since some posters were given out and I had him sign that instead. We were able to sit on a couch with Innis to get his autograph and picture; again my boyfriend was sweet enough to take our picture. It was a cool experience to sit and chat very briefly with Innis.

I have now been a member of Irresistibly Innis, his official fan club, since November 2001. It has been a great experience. I never thought I would get as close to an artist as I have so far. I may not have had a lengthy conversation or spent much time with him, but he has made himself accessible to his fans and I think that is awesome. Thank you Innis and the rest of the Irresistibly Innis staff for this wonderful opportunity.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY INNIS!!!
